Invitation to the AGM of Aberdeen Trades Union Council on 2nd March 2016 - All welcome

Delegates are warmly invited to come along to the Aberdeen Trades Union Council AGM on Wednesday 2nd March at 7.30pm in John Londragan House, 2a Adelphi, Aberdeen.

With its usual packed Agenda the AGM will approve ATUC office bearers for the coming year. There is also a proposal to amend the constitution to include the action to be taken should the ATUC need to be dissolved, which will need to be debated and a decision taken by a two thirds majority.

We are delighted that our speaker for the evening will be Fiona Napier, ATUC delegate and member of the SPSC, who will talk about her recent visit to Gaza, sponsored in part by the ATUC.

We will also begin discussions about how best to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the ATUC which will take place in 2018.

The next meeting of Aberdeen Trades Union Council will be held on Wed 3rd February 2016 at John Londragan House, 22a Adelphi, Aberdeen from 7.30-9pm. All delegates and associates are warmly invited to attend.

Kate Ramsden, President said, "This will be our nomination meeting for our office bearer posts which will be elected at our AGM in March. We will also be considering any proposed motions/changes to the constitution as well as preparing generally for the AGM."

Our speaket for the meeting will be Chris Trestrail, a Unite local youth committee activist who is arranging a local protest against Sports Direct who have been criticised for their use of zero hours contracts for particularly their young workers.
